OSA and liver stiffness

A study published in the June issue of the European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) has assessed the relationship between the severity of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and the liver stiffness measurement (a screening tool used for liver fibrosis in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease). The study found that in patients with metabolic comorbidities, severe OSA was independently associated with increased liver stiffness.
