On 23 August, ERS will hold a panel discussion on acute decompensated pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition characterised by rapid worsening of right heart failure (RHF) with subsequent congestion and systemic circulatory insufficiency, leading to multisystem organ failure. Short-term outcomes of acute decompensated RHF are very poor and remain the first cause of mortality in PAH.
