Pulmonary ischaemia–reperfusion injury accounts for significant morbidity after lung transplant but has no known medical therapies. This study identified a critical role for the natural killer cell co-receptor CD94 in mouse and human lung transplant.

ERJ Editors' choice

The Chief Editors of the European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) have selected their highlights from the August issue. Their selection includes original articles on benralizumab for allergic asthma, and low smoking exposure and the development and prognosis of COPD. They also highlight the European Respiratory Society statement on preschool wheezing disorders and a review article on phenotypes in pulmonary hypertension.

Lung Health Matters podcast

Episode one of the new Lung Health Matters podcast series is now available. The series looks at the important work the European Respiratory Society (ERS) does to advocate for better respiratory health at EU level and beyond.
