European Respiratory Journal has investigated the association between the incidence of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and exposure to traffic pollutants (namely nitrogen dioxide) in Northern Italy, in 2005–2010. The results identify a potential association between exposure and IPF development, encouraging further research into this area. Find out more
