Clinical management of noncommunicable diseases

Chronic noncommunicable diseases challenge the traditionally used "disease model" of acute diseases. An editorial recently published in the European Respiratory Journal suggests that their clinical management requires the use of a different "disease model" that is based on the presence of "treatable" traits.
