Clinical Exercise Testing - available now!
In the last 10 years, the use of clinical exercise testing in respiratory medicine has grown significantly and, if used in the appropriate context, it has been demonstrated to provide clinically useful information. However, as its implementation and interpretation can be complicated, it should be used alongside previous medical evaluation and should be interpreted with the results of these additional tests in mind. The latest ERS Monograph on Clinical Exercise Testing provides a comprehensive update on the contemporary uses of exercise testing to answer clinically relevant questions in respiratory medicine. Read the book online here or visit the online bookshop to buy your printed copy.

ACP in life-threatening pulmonary disease
The April issue of ERJ Open Research features a focus group study on advance care planning (ACP) for patients with life-threatening pulmonary disease. ACP is a communication process that maps a patient's wishes for end-of-life care. The study indicated that ACP should be based on a well-established relationship between the patient and the doctor/nurse. By providing individually requested/tailored information, ACP can empower patients and strengthen their resilience during the disease trajectory. Read the study in full here.
