The
April issue of
ERJ Open Research features a focus group study on advance care planning (ACP) for patients with life-threatening pulmonary disease. ACP is a communication process that maps a patient's wishes for end-of-life care. The study indicated that ACP should be based on a well-established relationship between the patient and the doctor/nurse. By providing individually requested/tailored information, ACP can empower patients and strengthen their resilience during the disease trajectory. Read the study in full
