Each year, ERS presents a number of prestigious awards to recognise the achievements of a select group of leaders in the field of respiratory medicine. This year's awardees include: Stefano Nava (Presidential Award), Antonio R. Anzueto (Congress Chair Award), Najib Rahman (Mid-Career Gold Medal in Thoracic Oncology), Matthew Maddocks (Mid-Career Gold Medal for Allied Health Professionals) and James Chalmers (Cournand Lecture Award).
