ERS experts join call for rapid action on clean air in Europe

Health groups including experts from the European Respiratory Society (ERS) urge immediate action on air quality in Europe. A deal between the European Parliament, Council and Commission on the European Union (EU) Ambient Air Quality Directive (AAQD) revision will soon be reached; experts warn that a delay in fully aligning the EU's AAQD with WHO air quality guidelines will cause more then 300,000 premature deaths and widen Europe's health inequality gap.
