Professor Monika Gappa, the President of the European Respiratory Society, recently led a European Parliament debate on childhood respiratory health. Co-hosted by MEP Patrizia Toia and MEP Romana Jerkovi, the event welcomed policymakers, stakeholders in respiratory healthcare and other interested parties to hear about five key areas: the importance of respiratory health in early childhood; the impact of health inequalities on respiratory health; the challenges in availability and accessibility of medicines; the urgent need for collaborative actions; and the role of awareness and research.
