The Chief Editors of the European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) have selected their highlights from the October issue. Their selection includes original articles on: theratyping cystic fibrosis patients, the association of eicosanoids and eicosanoid-related metabolites with pulmonary hypertension, and the prevalence, risk factors and outcomes of cardiac disease. The issue also features European Respiratory Society (ERS) short guidelines for the use of as-needed ICS/formoterol in mild asthma, as we all as the ERS/American Thoracic Society technical statement on standardisations of the measurement of lung volumes.
