Asthma and allergies may be more common in teens who stay up late

Teenagers who prefer to stay up late and wake later in the morning are more likely to suffer from asthma and allergies compared with those who sleep and wake earlier, according to a study published in ERJ Open Research. Researchers say the study reinforces the importance of sleep timing for teenagers and opens up a new channel of research into how sleep affects teenagers' respiratory health. Submit your RCT abstracts for the ERS International Congress 2020

ERS is now accepting submissions of randomised controlled trial (RCT) abstracts for the ERS International Congress 2020. The most ground-breaking abstracts will be presented as part of the ALERT (Abstracts Leading to Evolution in Respiratory Medicine Trials) sessions, which are the perfect platform to showcase important clinical trial data from all respiratory disease areas. ERS journals awarded highest Impact Factors to date

Following the publication of Clarivate Analytics' Journal Citation Reports, we are delighted to share that the European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) and European Respiratory Review (ERR) have been awarded their highest Journal Impact Factors to date. ERJ received an Impact Factor of 12.339 and ERR was awarded an Impact Factor of 6.220, meaning the journals rank fourth and eighth, respectively, out of all journals in the respiratory system category.
