COPD, pulmonary arterial disease and mortality
The current issue of ERJ Open Research includes a study that investigates the association between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and the development of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Natalie Terzikhan and co-authors found that individuals with COPD have an almost doubled risk of developing PAD; people suffering from both diseases were found to have substantially higher mortality rates.
